Thursday, December 31, 1998 Published at 00:28 GMT World: Americas UN official charged over Croatia "fraud" A United Nations official supervising travel arrangements for UN peacekeepers in the former Yugoslavia has been arrested in New York and charged with fraud. The man, Charles Kim - an American citizen - is accused of extorting almost half a million dollars from a Croatian travel agency. The prosecution alleges that Mr Kim told the agency in Zagreb to submit exaggerated invoices to the UN and pass the resulting extra money to him.
