Buzz have created 200 new jobs at Bournemouth Airport
Low-cost airline Buzz has revealed details about its first services from its new UK base at Bournemouth.
The Dutch no-frills carrier recently announced it was setting up business at the airport in Dorset, creating 200 new jobs. The seven new routes from Bournemouth will fly to Amsterdam, Belfast, Bergerac in southern France, Prestwick in Scotland, Malaga, Murcia in southern Spain and Paris. Flights will begin in March 2003.
"In the next year we will continue to expand and develop our destination portfolio which will position Bournemouth as one of the UK's leading low-cost bases." The budget airline currently flies 24 routes across France, Germany, Spain and Holland. The UK destinations on offer from Bournemouth Airport signal the company's first domestic routes. Operating two Boeing 737 aircraft, Buzz plans to fly 750,000 passengers in its first 12 months at Bournemouth. Buzz already flies from Stansted Airport in Essex.
