Business park will create 2,000 jobs
Diggers on M6 toll road
It should be ready at the same time as the M6 toll
More than 2,000 jobs will be created when a multi-million pound business park opens in Staffordshire.

Work is due to start soon on the £2.5m centre near the M6 toll in Cannock.

When completed, the complex will be one of the largest industrial development sites in Staffordshire.

The park, a joint venture between Staffordshire County Council and property specialist Morston Assets, will boast more than 100 acres of office, industrial and warehouse space and is expected to attract more than £100m of investment.

Work should be completed in early 2004 to coincide with the opening of the M6 toll.

Councillor John Wakefield, the county council's leader for development services, said the scheme was very important to the area.

"This is a gateway site that really is of enormous importance to the economic prosperity of the area."
