All games in the top three divisions of the Greek football championship have been called off this weekend after the country's professional clubs called a strike.
The clubs are demanding that the state football betting agency pays them more than one-million dollars more than three-hundred million drachmas in outstanding gambling profits.
The clubs also want their percentage of earnings to be increased.
The government has dismissed the demands as illogical.
Correspondents say the strike will further damage the popularity of Greek football, which has already been affected by fan violence and bribery allegations.
