The scene of the murder was cordoned off
The scene of the murder was cordoned off
A man and woman arrested in a loyalist area of east Belfast are being questioned about the murder of a man on his doorstep, it is understood.

Arthur Berryman, 46, was stabbed to death in front of his wife after she answered a knock at the door of their home, off the Woodstock Road, on 31 October 2001.

A masked man wielding a knife burst in and struck the woman on the face.

He then stabbed her husband a number of times.

Mr Berryman died at the scene.

The man and woman being questioned were arrested in the Tullycarnet estate on the outskirts of east Belfast on Tuesday.
