Wednesday, December 30, 1998 Published at 17:24 GMT UK Two held over hit-and-run death ![]() Royal Ulster Constabulary: Launched manhunt Police in Northern Ireland have arrested two men after a seven-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run incident. Eamon Armstrong was killed on the Falls Road in West Belfast after he, his 27-year-old mother, Paula, and a male companion, were hit by a stolen taxi. Police say his mother was seriously injured while the male companion is in a critical condition. They added that the taxi was stolen from Belfast city centre on Wednesday evening when two men, described as in their 30s, demanded the driver hand over his keys outside a fast food restaurant. Eamon Armstrong had been walking with his mother and the man near Dunville Park. The RUC confirmed that two men were being questioned at Grosvenor Road RUC station. |
