Fire engine
Neighbours raised the alarm after seeing smoke
Three people have died in a fire at a block of flats in Birmingham.

Fire crews were called to the ground floor flat at about 0715 GMT on Tuesday.

Firefighters from Billesley Station were called to the incident in Braceby Avenue after neighbours raised the alarm.

When crews arrived they arrived they found the bodies of two men and a woman in the building but they were already dead.

'Nothing suspicious'

West Midlands fire spokesman John Fyall said the fire was brought under control rapidly.

He said: "We were at the scene within three minutes of the initial call and the fire itself was pretty minor.

"But there was a huge build up of heat and smoke.

"We believe the fire broke out in the kitchen and we found three adults in the house who were dead when we arrived.

"Fire investigation teams are at the scene although there is nothing to indicate there is any suspicious circumstances."
