In the next few days, the US Senate re-assembles for what is already being billed as the 'trial of the century'.
The Senate must decide whether to uphold the charges of perjury and obstruction of justice laid by the House of Representatives against President Bill Clinton.
As the legal and political process drags on into another year, opinion polls suggest the American people are fed up with the whole process. They are also concerned about the damage done to the image of the presidency and the country.
