Taiwanese company to test waste dumped in Cambodia

The Taiwanese company that exported toxic waste to Cambodia is sending a team of investigators to conduct tests on the shipment.

The company, Formosa Plastics Corporation, said it does not agree with earlier tests taken in Cambodia that found levels of mercury above safe limits.

The arrival of thousands of tons of the waste in the Cambodian port of Sihanoukville led to riots and attacks on buildings used by officials blamed for allowing the shipment in.

Taiwan's Environmental Protection Administration has urged the company to retrieve the waste.
