Fire-Fighters Dispute
Andy Gilchrist
As pay negotiations with the fire-fighters reached the eleventh hour, the independent pay review issued its recommendation and proposes they get less than half the money they asked for, and with strings attached. We talked to the review's author and the fire brigade union.

Terrorism
The Prime Minister was to deliver a speech at The Guildhall in London with the threat of terrorism apparently at the top of the agenda. Our Diplomatic Editor Mark Urban had the latest.

Kenneth Clarke
We looked at Kenneth Clarke's role at British American Tobacco. He joined us live in the studio.

Child Offenders
And why does the Home Office insist on treating child offenders as adults? The vast majority of offenders under the age of 18 are held in young offender institutions, where 31 such youngsters have killed themselves over the past four years. A minority get sent to secure units where suicides, so far, are unheard of.

The difference? The Childrens' Act applies in secure units but not in the young offender institutions. Ben Geoghegan reported on attempts to get the Government to change its policy.
