Man charged with teacher's murder
Norwich Crown Court
Benjamin Wilson will appear at Norwich Crown Court
A man charged with murdering a Cambridge science teacher who died two years after being attacked in the street appeared in court on Monday.

Unemployed Benjamin Wilson, 27, of Cambridge, was remanded in custody accused of killing Timothy Rendell.

Mr Rendell, 47, was attacked with a bicycle security chain as he cycled home after an evening out with friends.

The attack in Cambridge in May 1999 left him with severe brain damage, unable to talk, move or eat normally.

Mr Rendell, who was head of science at Hedingham School in Sible Hedingham, Essex, died at a nursing home in Ely, Cambridgeshire, in September 2001.

Mr Wilson entered no plea to the charge at Cambridge Magistrates' Court.

He was remanded to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 15 November.
