St Johnstone and Dunfermline draw ![]() St Johnstone 1 v Dunfermline 1 St Johnstone manager Sandy Clark felt Dunfermline were fortunate to escape with a point in a 1-1 draw at McDiarmid Park. His side wasted a number of chances yet needed an equaliser from Paul Kane nine minutes from time. Clark said: "I thought Dunfermline stole a point - there's no question about that. We showed great determination, however, to get back after being caught by a sucker punch." The Perth boss said that keeper Alan Main was "quite adamant" that he did not touch David Graham in the incident which led to Dunfermline's penalty which was converted by Andy Smith. "But the referee saw it differently - and he has to give it as he sees it," added Clark. He praised his side for their skilful football and the many chances they created and he felt they have served up some good entertainment in difficult conditions. Bert Paton, manager of relegation-threatened Dunfermline, said he was pleased with the battling qualities of his players. Paton added: "We lost a dreadful goal. We have got to cut out these mistakes because they are putting us under horrendous pressure. We have got to be pleased with the result, however, because we were without six of our regular players. "I would like to bring a new face into the team - an experienced defender like Alan Kernaghan of Saints for example."
