Murder inquiry after garden fight
Police tape
Witnesses saw Mr Wolfenden struggling with a man
A murder inquiry has been started after a man died of head injuries hours after being assaulted in his garden.

Craig Wolfenden, 37, died in Royal Bolton Hospital after being found by an ambulance crew at his Bromwich Street flat in the Haulgh area of the town at about 2000 GMT on Friday.

He was seen by witnesses struggling with an unidentified man in his garden at 0300 GMT the same day.

A woman who was visiting stopped the struggle and the man helped her take Mr Wolfenden inside before leaving.

But she called an ambulance later that evening after his condition deteriorated.

Police have appealed for the unknown man to come forward.

He is about 22-years-old, 5ft 6ins tall, with short hair, a graze on the left side of his face and wore dark trousers.
