The Enron scandal had far-reaching implications
Could an Enron-style corporate collapse happen in Europe, and if it affected more than one country, could the European Union cope?
The US and the EU are both tightening up their corporate governance rules, but there are fears that the two could be on a collision course. Frits Bolkestein, the European Commissioner for Internal Markets, thinks the answer is to integrate fully Europe's financial markets. But will this further inflame the far right in Europe, and how will he get member states to agree? He talks to Tim Sebastian.
