Bangladesh to host D-8 summit in March

The Bangladeshi government has announced it will host the second summit of the D-eight developing eight group of nations in March.

The two-day summit will be preceded by a meeting of the foreign ministers of the eight predominantly Muslim countries.

The D-eight, which groups Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey, was launched last year to promote economic and trade cooperation.

The summit was postponed in November after floods in Bangladesh.
