Tuesday, December 29, 1998 Published at 05:13 GMT World: Asia-Pacific Hong Kong's Democrats face split The leader of Hong Kong's Democratic Party, Martin Lee, says his group is facing a split. Mr Lee said in an interview with a local newspaper that some members were pushing for a stronger focus on the territory's working classes,and it was possible that they might form a democratic labour party. The party, which is not popular with Beijing, won sixty percent of the vote in May's legislative elections.
