Fighting in Uganda


Radio Uganda says two people were killed when the rebel Lord's Resistance Army attacked a suburb of the northern town of Kitgum on Christmas eve.It said the rebels were repulsed by soldiers after three hours of fighting.

The rebels have recently been involved in a number of clashes with Ugandan soldiers near the Sudanese border.
