Celtic Riseth above Dundee ![]() Dundee 0-3 Celtic Vidar Riseth scored his first goal for Celtic as the Scottish champions brushed past Dundee to close the gap with league-leaders Rangers. Riseth, Phil O'Donnell and an own goal by Robert Douglas condemned the home side to their fourth defeat at Dens Park this season.
Highly-rated Mark Burchill almost added a second, but he was thwarted by Douglas. Moravcik drilled a left-footed shot inches wide shortly before Celtic added their second. Scotland international Paul Lambert delivered an inch perfect cross to the back post where Riseth rose unchallenged to head home from six yards. Larrson came close to adding a third before half time, but his free kick was held by Douglas. Celtic were rarely in trouble, even when the opposition enjoyed bouts of possession in the second half. They had many opportunities to increase their lead, but tended to overelaborate in front of goal.
Irvine had seemed to avert the danger with a goaline clearance, but the ball deflected off Douglas's body and trickled over the line into his own net. Dundee tries to recover after that, but they seldom pressed Celtic keeper Jonathan Gould too hard.
