The judge directed they should be remanded in custody
Judge directed they should be remanded in custody
Two men arrested in Limerick in the Republic of Ireland and questioned about Real IRA activity have appeared before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin.

At a special sitting of the court on Saturday, James Bulman and Christopher Dineen were charged with membership of an illegal organisation - the IRA - and with having ammunition and Semtex explosives.

Christopher Dineen was also charged with unlawful possession of a Kalashnikov AK47 rifle.

Detectives told the court they arrested the men at a house in Sarsfield Court in the the Garryowen area of Limerick city on Wednesday evening.

The judge directed they should be remanded in custody until Wednesday and their lawyer told the court applications for legal aid and bail would be made then.
