Cricket test update

Now CRICKET, and New Zealand were two-hundred-and-ninety for seven at the close of the second day in the second Test against India in Wellington -- and led by eighty-two runs.

At lunch New Zealand had been one-hundred-and-thirty-two for three but lost four wickets between lunch and tea to the medium pace bowling of Javagal Srinath and the leg-spin of Anil Kumble.

In Melbourne, England were all out for two-hundred-and-seventy on the second day of the fourth Ashes Test against Australia, after rain prevented play on the first day.

Alec Stewart scored his maiden century in an Ashes series, but his innings of one-hundred-and-seven was undermined by poor performances around him.
