Police in Germany say a driver who was following the satellite-guided navigation system of his car ended up in a river.

He drove his car down a ferry ramp near Potsdam and into the river Havel before stopping.

The driver and his passenger escaped unharmed.

A police spokesman said similar accidents could happen if people relied too much on technology.
