Karnataka govt employees on strike

A strike by almost six hundred thousand employees who work for the southern Indian state of Karnataka has entered its second day.

They're demanding that their salaries be put on a par with federal government employees.

Court and hospital services have been most affected.

There have been several rounds of talks between the government and trade unions in an attempt to end the dispute.
