Saturday, December 26, 1998 Published at 07:32 GMT World: South Asia 10 die in Indian train/bus crash Ten people are reported to have been killed and five injured in a crash between a train and a bus in eastern India. The Press Trust of India said the bus was on a level crossing between Bhuli and Tetulmari stations when it was hit by a freight train. All the victims were on the bus. Railway officials said the bus passengers had grown tired of waiting for an approaching train, and had forced the gatekeeper to open the crossing. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
