Chairman Mao's "Little Red Disc" released


China is today, Saturdaycommemorating the one hundred and fifth anniversary of the birth of Chairman Mao Zedong.

To mark the event, the ruling Communist Party has released a CD-ROM on his life.

It contains thousand of pictures, film and television clips of him as well as twenty volumes of his political thoughts and poems.

Chairman Mao ruled China for three decades before his death in 1976, aged eighty three, and was renowned for his "Little Red Book" which was once seen as the mantra for the country's youth.
