Prison authorities in Mexico say ten inmates at a jail in Mexico City have staged a riot during Christmas visiting and disarmed several guards.
One report said they'd taken around a dozen members of staff hostage, and were using them to bargain for their own freedom.
The Mexican news agency said hundreds of visitors, many of them children, had to be evacuated from the building as police fired teargas in an effort to quell the disturbance.
