The governor of the Central Bank in Bangladesh says commercial banks in Bangladesh will only be allowed to use the new European single currency, theEuro, after a committee has studied its impact on the country's external trade.

The governor, Mohammad Farashuddin, said the committee's report would be completed this month.

Nearly forty-five per cent of Bangladesh's exports go to European Union countries.
