No involvement in embassy bombings -- Bin Ladan

The man accused by the United States of masterminding the bombings of two American embassies in August has publicly denied any involvement.

He's Osama bin Laden, an exiled Saudi Arabian who now lives in Afghanistan, and was talking for the first time since the bombings to a BBC Correspondent there.

Mr Bin Ladan said he had no hand in the bombings, in Kenya and Tanzania, which killed more than two-hundred people.

But he said he was not sorry they occurred.

After publicly naming Mr Bin Laden, President Clinton ordered an American attack on what he said were his camps in Afghanistan. and on a chemical factory in Sudan Mr Bin Laden has denied he is using bases in Taleban-controlled areas of Afghanistan to launch international terrorist attacks.
