UN Chemical Weapons team says Japanese cult gas lab destroyed

A United Nations chemical weapons team has confirmed that a nerve gas production plant set up by the Japanese sect Aum Shinri Kyo/Supreme Truth which released gas on the Tokyo subway, has been destroyed.

Scientists from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons went to Japan to inspect the facilities that were dismantled by Japanese authorities.

Twelve people were killed and thousands more injured in the attack on the subway nearly four years ago.

The UN body polices compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention, which has been ratified by over one hundred and twenty countries worldwide
