Wall Street stocks opened higher on Wednesday in what is likely to be a thinly traded session ahead of the Christmas holidays.
At 1432 the Dow Jones index was up 29,87 points at 9074.33.
The Nasdaq technology-heavy index leapt higher in opening deals, helped by news that Merrill Lynch had lifted its rating on Intel.
The Nasdaq was up 29.18 points at 2150.16.
