Ukraine president in Turkmenistan
The Ukrainian president, Leonid Kuchma, has arrived in Turkmenistan for talks with his Turkmen counterpart, Saparmurad Niyazov, about resuming Turkmen gas sales to Ukraine.
The two leaders are expected to sign an agreement for Turkmenistan to provide Ukraine with fifteen billion cubic metres of natural gas in 1999.
Turkmenistan suspended gas sales in March last year over Ukraine's mounting gas debt. .
