Mother in court over double child murder
A 28-year-old woman has appeared in court in Birmingham charged with the murders of two of her children.
The woman, who for legal reasons cannot be named, appeared in court to answer charges of killing a son aged eight months in May 1998 and a daughter aged nine months in November 1993.
The cause of death of the children has not been disclosed.
The woman, who is understood to suffer from learning difficulties, is from the Aston area of Birmingham
An application for bail was refused. She will appear before magistrates again on 29 December.
