Good Kach for the Saints

Kachloul (far left) celebrates with his new teammates

Moroccan international striker Hassan Kachloul has signed a two and a half year contract with Southampton after scoring in the 3-1 win over Wimbledon on Saturday.

The 27-year-old, who originally joined the club on loan from French club Metz will effectively replace Kevin Davies, who left the south coast team during the summer for Blackburn Rovers.

The signing has delighted manager Dave Jones, whose team have yet to crawl out of the bottom three all season.

"He's really impressed me with his attitude and skill. I'm delighted to have signed him on a long-term deal, and we are now working on improving his stamina levels to ensure he can last the full 90 minutes." said Jones.

Kachloul's first game as a registered player will be against second placed Chelsea at the Dell on Boxing Day.
