Tuesday, December 22, 1998 Published at 13:58 GMT World: Africa Eritrea accuses Sudan and Djibouti The Eritrean foreign minister, Haile Weldensae, has accused Sudan and Djibouti of providing assistance to Ethiopia in its border dispute with Eritrea. Mr Weldensae said the Sudanese authorities allowed Ethiopia to import weapons through Port Sudan. He also repeated accusations that Djibouti was giving military assistance to Ethiopia. Djibouti last month broke off diplomatic relations after the allegation was first made. Hundreds of people were killed earlier this year when the border dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea erupted into war. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
