Korea and US reach military cost agreement

South Korea and the United States have reached an agreement on the cost of maintaining American forces stationed on the Korean peninsula.

An American statement said Seoul will pay Washington three-hundred-and-thirty-three million dollars to help offset American military costs next year.

Correspondents say the settlement ends a long-running dispute between the two countries.

South Korea, which is facing an economic crisis, has been trying to scale back the cost of keeping American troops on its soil.
