Man arrested after Belfast murder
Mr McKinley was shot in Euston Street
A 26-year-old man is being questioned by police about the murder of a man shot in east Belfast earlier this month.
Alexander McKinley, 22, of Portallo Street was shot in the head at Euston Street in the Woodstock Road area on 7 October. He died nearly a week later in hospital. The 26-year-old was arrested in Dundonald just outside east Belfast on Monday. Mr McKinley was murdered during a period of tension in east Belfast over a feud between the loyalist paramilitary groups the Ulster Defence Association and the smaller rival Loyalist Volunteer Force. But his father said after his death that he had had nothing to do with paramilitary organisations. Protestant clergy have held talks with some of the loyalist paramilitary leaders in an attempt to end the feud, which has resulted a series of tit-for-tat shootings. The feud can be traced back to two shootings in September - the murder of a LVF member Stephen Warnock, and the wounding of Jim Gray - a senior UDA member in east Belfast.
