Cash to shape town's future
Holsworthy market
A community plan will be drawn up for Holsworthy
The market town of Holsworthy has been awarded £65,000 to draw up a community plan to decide on its future.

The money will be used to identify projects which will breathe new life into the town and parish communities in North Devon.

Potential ideas for the plan include coming up with a use for the old health centre, relocating the cattle market and creating a local directory for new house buyers.

David Smith, chairman of the steering group overseeing the plan, said: "We have many early projects which can now be set in motion.

"We now need to engage all members of the community, to ensure their needs and aspirations for the future are met."

The project is being paid for by the South West Regional Development Agency.

Anyone with ideas on how the community should be shaped over the next decade is invited to contact David Smith at the Steering Group on 01409 253 522.
