New beat for car parts firm
Bob Henrit is impressed with the new drum kit
A car parts company from Wellingborough has had a new lease of life - thanks to a new drum kit design and a former drummer with The Kinks.
Penspell used to make handbrakes for Ford Transits. Now it is specialising in a drum marketed by a Bob Henrit, who was a drummer with The Kinks in the 1980s and 1990s. Mr Henrit said one of the advantages of his state-of-the-art drum kit was how light it is compared with traditional sets. "The Kinks' drum kit must weigh 200 to 300 kilos. This weighs 25 kilos," he said. Stuart Pentlow, managing director of Penspell, which moulds all plastic components, said the company was excited about producing the drums. "We lost a lot of our work to the Far East so now we're hoping we'll sell these to the Far East," he said. |
