Security van raider hunted
Police tape
Police found the raider's getaway car
A robber who made a get away with a five-figure sum of money from a security van is being hunted by police.

The incident happened on Saturday, at around 1740 BST, when a Securitas van was delivering cash to a Safeway store in Glasgow's southside.

While the guard was transferring a cash box between the vehicle and the store, he was approached by the robber who brandished a knife at him and demanded the cash box.

Strathclyde Police said the guard handed over the money and the robber escaped with a five-figure sum.

The robber made a get away in a red Ford Fiesta, which was found abandoned a short time later in the city's Deanston Drive, near Holmbank Road, Shawlands.

Police said he was aged about 30 and had been wearing a light-coloured woollen hat, grey fleece and light blue trousers.
