Men deny attempted murder charge
Victim was attacked at Gardenmore House flats
Victim was attacked at Gardenmore House flats
Two men have appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court in County Antrim charged with the attempted murder of a Larne man.

In the dock at Satutrday's hearing were 24-year-old John Thomas Maloney from Linn Road, Larne and William Robinson, aged 31, from Greenland Parade in the town.

When charged, Mr Maloney replied "I never assaulted anyone" while Mr Robinson said it "definitely wasn't me, not guilty".

A detective inspector told the court he believed he could connect the two men with the charges.

Both men were remanded in custody.

Gerald McRandle, 29, was attacked and badly beaten outside Gardenmore House flats, where he lives, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Three other people have already appeared in court charged with failing to give information in connection with the attack.

The trio, which includes a mother and daughter, were remanded on bail.
