Boat rescue in English Channel
A rescue operation is underway in the English Channel after a Russian vessel got into trouble 35 miles south of Start Point in Devon.

The Bothnia Stone lost power in its engines and was listing at about 40 degrees - which has now been corrected to 20 degrees.

The boat has also shed 700 cubic metres of timber into the sea.

A rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall has been sent to the scene to determine whether to airlift the 20 crew on board off of the vessel.

Lifeboats from Plymouth, Alderney and St Peter Port are on their way to the scene.
