Environment centre closes
EcoTech centre and Ecotricity wind turbine
The centre may have to go into voluntary liquidation
A Norfolk environmental visitors' centre is to close its doors because it has failed as a tourist attraction.

The EcoTech centre at Swaffham will shut to the public from Sunday, although educational visits and conferences will continue.

The Ecotech Charitable Trust, which runs the centre, said it had failed to work as a tourist attraction.

The trust is now working on a redevelopment plan for the future of the centre.

It announced earlier this month it might have to go into voluntary liquidation to sort out its financial problems.

The chief executive and the operations manager have already left the company.

The site looks over a 67-metre high wind turbine run by Ecotricity. It is not affected by the closure.
