Pakistan police uncover bombs
Police in Pakistan have found twelve bombs at an empty plot in a slum area of Karachi.

One went off during the recovery operation, injuring a policeman in the head, stomach and legs.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Most of the devices were concealed inside children's dolls and torches found in a well.

Each weighed up to 500g .

A bomb disposal expert said they appeared to have been made locally.

There were no arrests. Karachi has recently suffered a series of parcel bomb attacks, many directed against Westerners and Christians.
