Japanese MP stabbed to death
Reports from Japan say that an MP from the main opposition Democratic Party, Koki Ishii, was stabbed to death while leaving his house in western Tokyo.
Police said they would not officially confirm the death until after the body had been identified by his family. The motive for the attack is not clear yet. Koki Ishii, who was 61 years old, represented a district of Tokyo in the lower house of parliament. He was first elected in 1993. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
