Man charged with 10 child rapes

A man appeared in court on Wednesday charged with raping and indecently assaulting young girls.

Michael Wheeler 35, of Wadloes Road, Cambridge, is charged with 14 offences against girls under 16.

They include 10 charges of rape, two of indecent assault and two of inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency.

Magistrates in Cambridge heard all the offences are alleged to have happened between January and October this year.

The case has been sent to Cambridge Crown Court, where Mr Wheeler is due to appear on 4 November.

Mr Wheeler was remanded in custody.
