Teenager jailed for manslaughter
A teenager has been jailed for three years for the manslaughter of a boy who ran into the path of traffic as he fled a fight.

The Old Bailey heard that Yannick Etutu, 17, had punched Scott Young, 14, during an argument in December of last year.

Scott ran into the London Road in Romford, Essex, and was hit by two cars, causing him multiple injuries from which he died.

The Recorder of London, Judge Michael Hyam, told Etutu: "He did nothing to provoke your attack on him.

"There is no excuse for what you did."

'No excuse'

Mr Hyam added that he was satisfied that Etutu had not meant to cause Scott serious injury when he picked the fight with him.

Etutu, of Ilford in East London, was found guilty of manslaughter last month and remanded in custody for reports.

An 18-year-old was cleared.
