The family of a pregnant prostitute who was murdered have said her baby would have been born this week.

Danielle Moorcroft's stepmother Christine said the 21-year-old's baby has been named Callum in memorial.

Ms Moorcroft, from Liverpool, was killed in June this year. Her body was found in a car park behind Bolton Community College.

Earlier this year detectives unveiled giant billboards to appeal for help in catching her killer.

Speaking to BBC GMR on Wednesday, Mrs Moorcroft said the killer was "an animal".

She said: "How could he have done that to a five months pregnant girl with her life ahead of her?

"She was obviously pregnant and she didn't do any harm to anyone."

Ms Moorcroft died after sustaining massive head injuries.

She was a heroin addict and had worked in Bolton for two years.

Christine Moorcroft said: "It's a very difficult time for the whole family, to know that our grandson has gone as well."

Car clue

As the hoardings appealing for help in the case were unveiled, Detective Superintendent Patsy Wood said she hoped someone's memory would be jogged.

She said: "I appreciate some people may not want to contact the police if they have used prostitutes in the Bolton area.

"But I cannot stress how important it is that we speak to anyone who may be able to help us catch the person who murdered Danielle."

Ms Moorcroft was last seen getting into a large dark car , driven by a man after 0100 BST on 1 June, close to Trinity Way Retail Park.
