TV appeal over Glasgow murder
Alexander Blue's home
Mr Blue was found outside his Glasgow home
Police are due to make a television appeal for new information about the murder of a Glasgow businessman.

Alexander Blue, 41, was attacked outside his home in the city's west end on 25 June.

The murder will feature on BBC1's Crimewatch programme on Thursday evening as detectives search for fresh leads in the case.

The programme will also include the first interview with Mr Blue's mother Kathleen since her son was murdered.

E-fit of wanted man
Police issued an e-fit of a man they want to speak to

Police have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to and Mr Blue's colleagues are offering a £25,000 reward for information about his death.

The man being sought by police was seen leaving the businessman's house in Dundonald Road, Dowanhill, at about 2330 BST the night before the murder.

Shortly after midnight Mr Blue was found seriously injured on his doorstep. He died in hospital two days later.

Last movements

The Crimewatch reconstruction will focus on Mr Blue's last known movements, which included a visit to the Beanscene café in Cresswell Lane, as well as his business at the Taxi Centre in the Hyndland area.

The officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector David Swindle, said: "It's been four months since the murder of Alexander Blue, and we are hoping that this new appeal on Crimewatch will bring some fresh information to light.

"Mr Blue had business acquaintances and friends across the UK, so hopefully this nationwide appeal will help further our enquiries."
