Police fail to halt disciplinary proceedings
Killingbeck Police Station
The officers served on the Cross Border Team
Seven Leeds police officers have failed in their High Court attempt to block disciplinary proceedings against them.

Among the allegations against the officers are claims that they "fabricated interviews" with suspects and fiddled expenses and payments to informers.

All of the officers deny any wrong-doing and no criminal charges have ever been brought, after the Director of Public Prosecutions ruled there was insufficient evidence to justify a prosecution.

But West Yorkshire's former Chief Constable Graham Moore ruled in February of this year that the disciplinary proceedings should go ahead.

On Tuesday the High Court Judge Mr Justice Davis dismissed the police officers' judicial review challenge to the Chief Constable's refusal to halt the action.

The six detectives and one uniformed officer all served with an elite serious crime unit at Killingbeck Police Station in Leeds, known as the Cross Border Team.

Six of the officers have not been able to report for duty for more than three-and-a-half years and remain suspended on full pay.

The seven officers now face disciplinary proceedings which are expected to run into next year.

The judge refused permission to appeal against his ruling.
