The Organisation of African Unity is reported to be considering immediate intervention on the Indian Ocean island of Anjouan to stop fighting between rival factions.

It's appealed for an end to the latest conflict which began on Saturday and flared up again on Monday.

At least forty five people are reported to have been killed and thousands have fled their homes.
