Monday, December 7, 1998 Published at 19:05 GMT World: Africa UNITA alleges government bombings The Angolan opposition movement, UNITA, says government jets have been bombarding two of its central highland strongholds, Andulo and Bailundo, for the past four days. A spokesman for UNITA Alcides Sakala told the BBC some people had been killed in the attacks and many wounded -- though he gave no exact figure. He accused the government of playing with fire. The government has refused to comment on the allegations. The two sides signed a peace treaty in 1994 to end two decades of civil war, but it's never been fully implemented, largely because of UNITA's refusal to disarm.
